JFKS Survey: What is your Opinion on the Food Served by the School
The Food at school is rated very differently by all students. Some say that the food is good, and some say it’s very bad. The food served comes at a lot of costs, and these are all included in the costs of the food. First, they need to pay rent for the kitchen that they are using. Because of this, they need to take out around 11% of the money given to them for their rent. Next, they need to pay for their utilities, such as the energy bill, which is needed for things like the ovens, the water, the dish cleaner, etc.. This means that they need to take out an extra 17% from what they get. After that, they need to pay for the workers who make the food, serve food, clean the dishes, manage logistics, get the food, and plan the meals. This all takes about 29% of the money they get. Finally, the food itself needs to be paid for. 1 Kg. of potatoes is already 1.84 Euros, and then they need to add things like the sauces, which could be as much as 1.26 Euros. They also prepare two menus, which doubles most of those costs, and makes it harder, as more needs to be cooked, raising the water and electricity costs. The Desert can also cost around 5%, depending on what is served. Overall, the School food people try to take out 5-10% of what they get, depending on how much it costs to make the meal, and save this up for more expensive meals, such as pancakes, which can cost more, and that would include the sauce. People who go grocery shopping know that food is not cheap and that 4.43 Euros is not a lot of money, when it comes to food, or anything. This is why the meals are not the best. Many Students do not know that the company runs off of the money that is given to them for each meal. This is why many students answered to the survey either that the cost was very high, outrageous, and many others said that the food was bad, and even very bad.
